Today morning as Anne was going through a local news letter called Castle Hills Life, she found an interesting auto-biography of a mother who lost his son three years ago. The story of Nikolas breaks anyone’s heart. How strong is his mother Joan Saynor who wrote the article really stunned me!
Anne found out from the article that Joan adopted Nikolas from Russia. He had contracted a virus myocarditis and passed away after few months he arrived in the United States.
Joan sacrificed her time and life to go through months of paperwork, and then cross his own country to go to Russia and bring the child home. I’m sure this wonderful mother and her husband who adopted Nikolas had dreams. They might have dreamed of Nikolas playing in a football team, graduating from his school, marrying his girl friend. Nikolas might have had dreams too. How those dreams get shattered is difficult for me to fathom. Was that an unwanted journey as Joan says in her bio? May be.
Joan made Nikolas prosperous. Even that is for a day, it counts!
